Behavioural Skills Training Workshops

 
 
The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and Sugar Research Australia are collaborating to offer a special training event for extension officers in the Mackay and Proserpine region. The aim is to offer a unique approach by providing extension officers new skills in behavioural science, which is emerging as an important element of extension efforts in Queensland. The training will focus on concepts such as –

  • The science of human behaviour
  • How to understand farmers’ motivations and barriers to adoption
  • Techniques for communicating more effectively with farmers
  • Strategies for managing resistance
  • Techniques for measuring and validating your effectiveness as an extension expert
